Outline of the session

How can we organize events that bring more than 'nice conversations' and actually deliver real outputs? How can a writeshop enhance engagement process with partners and other people? Find out and co-design the next wave of writeshops...

Purpose: Share best practices and experiences on organising events that bring more than ‘nice conversations’ and actually deliver real outputs.
Objectives/Products: Participants will have a chance to learn about the basics of setting up a writeshop, and we’ll jointly map out the different ways of designing a writeshop based on your goals.

Detailed session outline:

15 minute introduction campfire: What are we each hoping to get out of this? Who has experiences to share? Who has a problem to solve?

Breakout groups:

Group A) What is a write shop, how do I set one up, and what are my options? Discussion led by Michael Victor and Bethel Terefe
For newbies who want to do this!

Together we will map out the different ways to design a writeshop to get to our objectives.

Group B) Writeshops for transformation. Discussion facilitated by Vanessa Meadu
For writeshop veterans who want to deepen and enhance their experiences

Participants will go around and share experiences of past writeshops including:
- what was the purpose
- what was produced
- what was the transformational change
Together we will map out the different ways to design a writeshop to get to our objectives.

Regroup: 45 minute discussion, possible peer assist if a participant wants to open up their challenge to the group.
